Notes on the program of the Governor of Victoria.
The Governor presided at a meeting of the Executive Council; and hosted the presentation of the Royal Humane Society Bravery Awards to residents of Victoria.
The Governor received Professor C.N.R. Rao, Fellow of the Royal Society accompanied by Mrs. Indumati Rao and Professor Suresh Bhargava, Deputy Pro Vice-Chancellor International, RMIT University; and later received Professor Margaret Gardner AO, President and Vice-Chancellor of Monash University.
The Governor and Judge Howard met with HE Mr John Berry, Ambassador of the USA. On Saturday, His Honour Judge Anthony Howard toured the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital, as Patron.
The Governor met with Ms Katie McLeish, CEO of Melbourne Festival; and later received Rev. Greg Pietsch, District Bishop Lutheran Church; and also the Very Reverend Dr Andreas Loewe, Dean of St Paul's Cathedral. In the evening, the Governor presented the 2015 Royal Society of Victoria Medal for Research Excellence. The Governor and Judge Howard welcomed HE Mr John Berry, Ambassador of the USA to Government House.
The Governor toured the University of Melbourne and Doherty Institute in Parkville. In the evening the Governor and Judge Howard hosted the launch of the Florey Brains Trust.
The Governor and Judge Howard hosted a reception for delegates of the 2015 ANZSOG China Advanced Leadership Program.
The Governor received the Hazelwood Mine Fire Inquiry Chair and Board Members who delivered the second part of their report. In the evening, the Governor and Judge Howard attended the Consular Corps Melbourne Annual Dinner.
The Governor presided at a meeting of the Executive Council; and also presided at an Investiture of the Order of Australia Bravery Decorations. Later, the Governor hosted a presentation of the 2015 Victorian International Education Awards; and also delivered the keynote address at Maccabi Victoria's 90th Anniversary Gala Dinner.
The Governor received Professor John Dewar, Vice-Chancellor and President of La Trobe University; and also received Her Excellency Mrs Menna Rawlings CMG, High Commissioner for the United Kingdom.
